Heavy Rain – Game

Finished Heavy Rain on PS3. Must really say that it is a great game with a great story line. The game is kind of linear once you have a hang of the game. The use of the Move really makes the game unique in a way that no other game utilises the way Heavy Rain does. The graphic is good for a game released some time back. The music is superb!

This Too Shall Pass
From:http://pravstalk.com/this-too-shall-pass/

Once a king called upon all of his wise men and asked them, ” Is there a mantra or suggestion which works in every situation, in every circumstances, in every place and in every time. In every joy, every sorrow, every defeat and every victory? One answer for all questions? Something which can help me when none of you is available to advise me? Tell me is there any mantra?”

All the wise men were puzzled by the King’s question. They thought and thought. After a lengthy discussion, an old man suggested something which appealled to all of them. They went to the king and gave him something written on paper, with a condition that the king was not to see it out of curiosity. Only in extreme danger, when the King finds himself alone and there seems to be no way, only then he can see it. The King put the papers under his Diamond ring.

Some time later, the neighbors attacked the Kingdom. King and his army fought bravely but lost the battle. The King had to flee on his horse. The enemies were following him. getting closer and closer. Suddenly the King found himself standing at the end of the road – that road was not going anywhere. Underneath there was a rocky valley thousand feet deep. If he jumped into it, he would be finished…and he could not return because it was a small road…the sound of enemy’s horses was approaching fast. The King became restless. There seemed to be no way.

Then suddenly he saw the Diamond in his ring shining in the sun, and he remembered the message hidden in the ring. He opened the diamond and read the message. The message was – ” THIS TOO SHALL PASS”

The King read it . Again read it. Suddenly something struck him- Yes ! This too will pass. Only a few days ago, I was enjoying my kingdom. I was the mightiest of all the Kings. Yet today, the Kingdom and all his pleasure have gone. I am here trying to escape from enemies. Like those days of luxuries have gone, this day of danger too will pass. A calm came on his face. He kept standing there. The place where he was standing was full of natural beauty. He had never known that such a beautiful place was also a part of his Kingdom.

The revelation of the message had a great effect on him. He relaxed and forgot about those following him. After a few minutes he realized that the noise of the horses and the enemy coming was receding. They moved into some other part of the mountains and were near him.

The King was very brave. He reorganized his army and fought again. He defeated the enemy and regained his empire. When he returned to his empire after victory, he was received with much fanfare. The whole capital was rejoicing in the victory. Everyone was in afestive mood. Flowers were being showered on King from every house, from every corner. People were dancing and singing. For a moment King said to himself,” I am one of the bravest and greatest King. It is not easy to defeat me. With all the reception and celebration he saw an ego emerging in him.

Suddenly the Diamond of his ring flashed in the sunlight and reminded him of the message. He open it and read it again: “THIS TOO SHALL PASS”.

He became silent. His face went through a total change -from the egoist he moved to a state of utter humbleness. If this too is going to pass, it is not yours. The defeat was not yours, the victory is not yours. You are just a watcher. Everything passes by. We are witnesses of all this. We are the perceivers. Life comes and goes. Happiness comes and goes. Sorrow comes and goes.

Now as you have read this story, just sit silently and evaluate your own life. This too will pass. Think of the moments of joy and victory in your life. Think of the moment of Sorrow and defeat. Are they permanent ? They all come and pass away.

Life just passes away. There is nothing permanent in this world. Every thing changes except the law of change. Think over it from your own perspective. You have seen all the changes. You have survived all setbacks, all defeats and all sorrows. All have passed away. The problems in the present, they too will pass away. Because nothing remains forever. Joy and sorrow are the two faces of the same coin. They both will pass away.

You are just a witness of change. Experience it, understand it, and enjoy the present moment – this too shall pass!

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself

Doubt can be a bond as powerful and sustaining as certainty

Courage is not the lack of fear it’s taking action despite of your fear

The more you know, the less you need.

Because I can, therefore I will; Because I will, therefore I can.

Anyone can cook but only the fearless can be great

Does the walker choose the path or the path the walker.

You cannot say you have lost a friend. If a Friendship is capable of ending, it is because it never existed. “

i’m afraid of death, but even more afraid of wasting my life.

i’m afraid of love, because it involves things that are beyond our understanding; it sheds such a brilliant light, but the shadow it casts frightens me.

“When we slowly sieve out people and choose the reminding to be good friend/best friend, its because sub-conciously these people benefit us in some ways. “

Love is Blind, Love is Cruel, Love is for No Reason, Love is just simply Love, because it Comes and Goes, just like the Tide from the Ocean, Cherish it when it Comes, as far as possible, and Let it Go when it’s time to.

We are captives of our own identities, living in prisons of our own creations.

Men connecting to women

* R is for Routinely connect: Hug your spouse six times a day, for a duration of at least six seconds each time.
* O is for Open your heart and mind: Women want to know what are your thinking, what are you feeling — but not really. They want to know all the good things you’re thinking about them.
* C is for Contact: For a woman, it’s all about contact. Even if you’re reading the paper, let your foot touch hers.
* K is for Keep it positive: Make a conscious effort to think about the good things in your relationship.

Women connecting to men

* S is for Sex: There’s a reason men seem to want sex more. That’s where men get the biggest hit of oxytocin, the same hormone that prepares women for motherhood and helps them breast-feed. A study cited in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that oxytocin can help social bonding by building trust.
* T is for Touching: Men need two to three times more touching than women do, flesh on flesh, to experience the same sense of closeness. Men are touched deprived.
* A is for Appreciation: Appreciation goes a lot further with men. Men live on it.
* R is for Respect his routine: Women can multitask, but men tend to focus on one thing. So don’t think he’s ignoring you if he’s involved in a task, such as typing on the computer, and he doesn’t answer you right away when you ask him where the car keys are.

Osaka Castle Built under 24 hrs !

This is the Osaka Castle. Looks cool right… like being bought from some shop. I did it myself through papercraft. Basically, printing, cutting and pasting. Although, it looks quite easy to do, its not! I spent like 7 to 8 hrs doing it. It can be tedious at times, but the final product is very satisfactory. Maybe will do another more complicated one in the future, when I am very very free ( need lots of time and patience).

Sometimes, in our relentless efforts to find the person we love we fail to recognize and appreciate the people who love us. We miss out on so many beautiful things and simply because we allow ourselves to be enslaved by our own selfish concerns. Go for the man of deeds and not for the man of words for you will find rewarding happiness.

The best lovers are those who are capable of loving from a distance, far enough to allow the other person to grow, but never too far to feel the love deep within your being. To let go of someone doesn’t mean you have to stop loving, it only means that you allow that person to find their own HAPPINESS without expecting them to come back.

Letting go is not just setting the other person free, but it is also setting yourself free from all fears, bitterness, hatred, and anger that you keep in your heart. Do not let the bitterness rare away your strength and weaken your faith and never allow pain to dishearten you, but rather let you grow with wisdom in bearing it.

You may have found peace in just loving someone from a distance not expecting anything in return. But be careful, for this can sustain life but can never give enough room for us to grow. We can all survive with just beautiful memories of the past but real peace and happiness come only with open acceptance of what reality is today.

There comes a time in our lives when we chance upon someone so nice and we just find ourselves getting so intensely attracted to that person. This feeling soon become a part of our everyday lives and eventually consumes our thoughts and actions. The sad part of it is when we begin to realize that this person feels nothing more for us than just friendship, or the feelings they might have for us is just too far from how you love them. We start our desperate attempt to get noticed and be closer but in the end our efforts are still unrewarded and we end up being sorry for ourselves.

You don’t have to be bitter on love. What you need to learn is how to accept the verdict of reality without being bitter or sorry for yourself. Believe me, you would be better off giving that dedication and love to someone more deserving. Don’t let your heart run your life, be sensible and let your mind speak for itself. Listen not only to your feelings but to reason as well.

Always remember that if you lose someone today, it means that someone better is coming tomorrow: If you lose love it doesn’t mean that you failed in love. Cry, if you have to, but make it sure that the tears wash away the hurt and the bitterness that the past has left with you.

Let go of yesterday and love will find its way back to you, and when it does, pray that it may be the love that will stay and last a lifetime.

“When you lose someone… and you think you were the one who loved most, between the two of you… then they lost more, for someday you can love someone the way that you loved them… But they will never be loved again the way that you did.”

Interesting short stories

I didn’t say ‘be loved’. That requires too much compromise. If one changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We’ve taken a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise. Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance. It is hard work – the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning, attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn’t happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm.

You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to loving someone. You either don’t, or you do with every cell in your body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.”
————————————————————————–

Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering.

Finally fed up, God said, “THAT’S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the better job.”

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

They moused.

They faxed.

They e-mailed.

They e-mailed with attachments.

They downloaded.

They did spreadsheets!

They wrote reports.

They created labels and cards.

They created charts and graphs.

They did some genealogy reports

They did every job known to man.

Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.

Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went off.

Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.

Jesus just sighed.

Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming: “It’s gone! It’s all GONE! “I lost everything when the power went out!”

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.

Satan observed this and became irate. “Wait!” he screamed. “That’s not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don’t have any?”

God just shrugged and said,

“JESUS SAVES”

Updating…after a long time

Hi to all reading. Sorry for all who came to my blog and saw that it is still not updated for such a long time. Basically, because I am too busy to update and also do not have the “mood” to update. Well, as usual my life revolves around studies when it is the school term. Very very fierce semester this time round, as I have quite a number of projects to handle. This is especially so for a 6MC design project on a future airport. Not only are we required to come up with the electrical system, we are to build the model too. So much debugging and fitting here and there to do. Thus, I am still in school “chionging” as much as I can and is so sian that I am blogging now.

And next week, will be presentations plus oral test week. Hopefully, everything goes well without much glitch (irony…haha). 1 more month to go and I will be free from this stress for a period of 3 months. Hopefully, can get the things I want by then.

So farewell again. May you keep reading but no guarantee that I will update soon. Tata =)

Movie!!!

Go watch Heartbreak Kid. I think it is quite a nice show, although at some parts the producers injected some jokes that are kinna corny and a turn off. But overall, I think the show do bring out the theme of love and understanding someone before you plunge into a deeper relationship. The movie has a “happy” ending, but in life it may not be so. Once lost will be forever lost, so cherish whatever you have now.

This show received quite bad reviews from the critics. I guessed it is because of the “turn-off” parts which makes the whole movie very choppy and does not have a good flow. I think the director is trying to make this show a comedy but its jokes are just too off. However, some scenes are really funny. If the “bad” scenes were taken out with some tweaks, this show will be great. And great acting by Ben Stiller.

Now enjoying the short 1 month holiday. Preparing to strive again for the next semester. Woohoo!
